Some proposals for the guidelines are:
- No messages between 9pm in the evening and 7am the next morning.
- No advertising of personal information or businesses.
- Don’t reply in the Group to questions or announcements, rather reply directly to the person asking the question or making the announcement. E.g. announce someone’s birthday in the Group but wish them in a private message and don’t respond in the Group when someone’s birthday is announced.
- If you post something by mistake, please make use for the “Delete for Everyone” feature on WhatsApp.
- Don’t repeat an announcement more often than once in three (3) days.
- Limit posts to announcements that are relevant to the community in general – e.g. use WhatsApp Groups for Care Groups for announcements relevant to the respective Care Group – and news that is of general interest to the congregation – e.g. the fire in the Notre Dame Cathedral may be of general interest while a large traffic crash causing a major route to be blocked is of very limited interest.
- Communicate in English for the benefit of everyone.
- Should you have a complaint, please communicate directly with the person in question, a priest or the Trustees and not in the Group.
