After a week of early spring weather, Saturday 26 August dawned with a chill in the air. This meant that the sunny driveway and parking bays were the ideal location to host the Ferndale Community Market. Several new vendors arrived to sell at the market. We had Kitchen Addiction selling cake by the slice and cupcakes. These complemented the cappuccinos that we sold. I can vouch that the triple-layer chocolate cake was very good and the slices were more generous than we normally sell our slices.
The Spice Beauty Salon that recently opened in the Appleton's Centre on Malibongwe Drive provided a market-day special on manicures and reflexology. The reviews received were very good.
A vendor sold Vivace bags, purses, wallets, and rucksacks. The rucksack I purchased is bringing me great joy and is well made with sturdy zippers.
Shaun arranged for Sothebys to bring their jumping castle and the children that arrived had fun on it.
There were leggings and second-hand clothing on sale; Moringa products and our second-hand books.
We are already lining up new vendors for the market on 28 October where there will be fresh eggs and chili pickles on sale and pebble art and we hope that Kitchen Addiction will sell curries.
